According to the , a businesse called the Alameda Brewhouse Annex has filexd for a liquor licensew at424 S.W. Fourth Ave. An Alamedaw employee confirmed that brewery owner Matt Schumachefr also ownsthe building. The site is the former home of The a sports bar that closedlast winter. The liquor commissionn canceledthe bar’s license on Jan. 6 aftedr several “serious and persistent problems.” The order came less than a week aftee a homicide that apparently took place earlhyNew Year’s Day. The City surrendered its liquor license amonth later. The Alameda Brewhouse Annex license request is still saidChristie Scott, a commission spokeswoman.
The owners filed the liquor license requestin February. The company DBO LLC purchasex the building containing the proposed Annex in 1999for $606,120. It has a curren t market valueof $1.25 million. Alameda’s primaru brewpub is at 4765 N.E. Fremonty St.
